The NWOK establishes the following general rules and technical specifications for Winged Outlaw Karts competing in sanctioned races.
Section Six: Local Track Autonomy
1.00 The Organization shall not interfere with the operations of any sanctioned track. Promoters will operate as they deem appropriate. Local promoters will adhere to all Organization rules and specifications for Sanctioned Races. Other track operations are the responsibility of the local promoter. Local track rules, imposed on sanctioned races, shall not conflict or otherwise limit NWOK rules.
2.00 Any driver that is assessed any local penalty during a Sanctioned Race event, for local rules relating to unsportsmanlike conduct, may have that penalty enforced throughout the Sanctioned Facilities upon application of the local Promoter to the Organization’s Board of Directors. The written request for the Organization to implement sanctions against an individual driver shall include the date, time, basis for the infraction, witnesses to the incident, and recommended remedy(s). Notification to the Executive Board must occur within 24 hours of the alleged violation. The Board of Directors shall consider the incident in totality, allow for input from the driver, and make its decision.
2.10 Remedy(s) may include any or all of the following:
- No action.
- Suspension of drivers points for the day and time of infraction.
- A reduction in drivers’ points.
- Suspension of the driver from all Sanctioned Events for a period of time.
- Permanent suspension of the driver from the Sanctioning body.
2.15 Any driver that is penalized by the Organization, after first being allowed the opportunity to address the issue, shall abide by the decision of the Board and the Organization. Neither Sanctioning fee(s) nor any perceived points earnings shall be paid to the driver in the case of a sustained penalty that affects the driver’s points or standing in the Sanctioning Body.
Section Seven: Regional Points
1.00 Points shall be awarded to any driver in a sanctioned Feature race as follows, as long as there are 10 karts who take the green flag in at least one heat race.
1st Place 40 points
2nd Place 39 points
3rd Place 38 points
4th Place 37 points
5th Place - Field drop by 1 point per position.
1.10 In any sanctioned race, where fewer than 10 Karts start the Feature race, points will drop from 40 by 1 for every car under 10. For example, if only 6 cars took a green flag in a heat race, that is 4 fewer than 10. Therefore, the points would start at 4 fewer than 40 and be as follows:
1st place 36 points
2nd Place 35 points
3rd Place 34 points
4th Place 33 points
5th Place 32 points
6th Place 31 points
1.12 DQ A Disqualified Driver, having first taken the first green flag in a sanctioned feature race, shall score no points.
1.15 DNF A driver who fails to finish a sanctioned race, having first taken the first green flag in a sanctioned feature race, shall score the points for the position held as he left the track, with all others finishing the race, or more laps of the race, awarded higher positions.
1.16 The Regional points total for the racing season shall be based on a drivers average points. The minimum number of races will be based on the lowest number of races completed by a sanctioned track in that region. For example, Track A runs 10 shows and Track B runs 15 shows. Therefore, 10 shows would be the minimum number of races for regional points. So a guy that ran only track A might have accumulated 350 points in his 10 races. He would divide his total by 10 and get an average of 35 points. A guy that only ran at track B may have accumulated 528 points. He would divide by his 15 races and get an average of 35.2 points. If a third guy ran 7 events at both tracks, he would have raced in 14 events and would divide his total by 14. A 4th guy may have raced every race at both tracks and would divide his point total by 25. If a 5th guy only raced 4 races at each track and scored a perfect 320, he would have only raced in 8 races. In that region, 10 races was the minimum at any one track, therefore he would have to divide his 320 points by 10 to get an average of 32 points.
Ties: A tie will be broken by the number of 40 point wins for a driver. If neither have those, it will then go to 39 point 2nds and so on. If neither have raced in 40 point features, it will go to the most wins with the most cars.
1.20 National Points: There will be 4 races on the National Tour in 2011. Those races are:
1.) Wild West Shootout – Big Sky Kartway – Missoula , Montana - July 1, 2 ($2500)

2.) Knoxville Nationals – English Creek Speedway – Knoxville , IA - Aug. 8, 9 ($1000)
3.) East Coast Nationals – Iredell Fairgrounds – Troutman , NC - Sept. 5 ($1000)
4.) Got Milk? Fall Nationals – Hartville Saddle Club – Hartville, MO – Oct.7,8 ($1000)
Only a driver's top 3 National Races will be counted toward points. This makes it possible for a driver to miss one event, yet still have a chance to win the National Title.
In each race you will accumulate points based on your finishing order in that event. The winner of the A-Main will receive 200 points. 2nd place will receive 190 points. It will then drop by 5 down to 10th place. The next 10 spots will drop by 3 until the 20th place finisher has 120 points, and then after that it will drop by 2. Here is what it would look like:
200, 190, 185, 180, 175, 170, 165, 160, 155, 150, 147, 144, 141, 138, 135, 132, 129, 126, 123, 120, 118, 116…
Tie Breakers will be based on the best finish of the tied drivers. For example if Driver A had a 2nd place finish, and Driver B's best finish was 5th, Driver A would win. If both drivers had a 2nd place finish, it would then go to their 2nd best finish and so on.
Section Nine: Awards
1.00 Awards will be given to the top 3 finishers in each class per Region. If a Region runs 125s, 250s, and 500s, there will be awards for the top 3 in each of those classes.
1.10 Awards will be given to the top 3 finishers in the National Series.
